Looking Back/Looking Forward

In my Foundations in Dance Research class, we were recently told to google image our name and see what pictures appear. When I did this all different images started appearing from social media platforms, performances, current/former jobs, and previous dance programs. As I scrolled through these images it reminded me of everything that has brought me to where I am today. The image above was the one picture that struct me most. This picture is from 2015, during my final semester of undergrad at Florida State University. I was in Tim Glenn’s piece zErO, oNe,… where I had my first taste of being in a multimedia performance. I am currently pursuing my MFA at Ohio State University, where Tim is an alum, and am hoping to learn how to create my own multimedia performances through film, projections, and 3D mapping. This dance by Tim, and my time at FSU, were the beginning of my inspiration of blending tech and dance together. Rewatching this dance five years later helped remind me where my roots lie and how they have influenced my future.
